Working together
I offer counselling and psychotherapy for adults, in person in Brighton and Hove, and online. Before counselling begins, I will share my client agreement and explain what to expect from my work with you.
Sessions and fees
My sessions last 50 minutes. I recommend weekly sessions initially, although fortnightly or other intervals may be agreed. My standard fee is £60. Limited concessionary places are £45 with weekly attendance, and an optional solidarity rate of £75 helps me sustain those places. Payment is due by the end of the session, by cash, cheque or preferably bank transfer; bank transfers are due the same day.
Cancellations and breaks
I ask for 48 hours’ notice for cancellations. I charge £45 for missed appointments. I will give as much notice as possible about changes to my availability and planned leave.
Confidentiality and contact
I follow BACP ethical guidance and attend regular professional supervision. Confidentiality has relevant legal, safeguarding and supervision exceptions, which I will explain before counselling begins. Please keep messages between sessions to scheduling and immediate practical matters.
Ending counselling
I believe you know best when you are ready to stop counselling. I will discuss how to bring counselling to a close in a way that feels right for you.
Raising a concern
If you have a concern about my work with you, you can raise it with me in a session or by email at [email protected]. I am a Registered Member of BACP, membership number 421844. You can also find information about getting help with counselling concerns through BACP.
